Yarn
Fine
wool yarns
from sheep raised in the countryside of western
Norway. Excellent
sheep pasture and a
mild climate (that's right, it is not as cold as you may think)
throughout the
year make wool supple and gives it volume.
Wool is naturally warm, comfortable,
environmentally friendly, renewable
and durable. Rauma
has been producing
fine quality yarns
since the early 1930's. Strikkegarn, Finullgarn and Gammelserie are
the yarns
used most in
traditional Norwegian designs like Selbu mittens and Setesdal sweaters.

Arnhild's
Knitting Studio Patterns
Arnhild
grew up in Norway but came to the
United States in 1986 when she married an Iowan.
Her daughter Oyvor is a graduate of Iowa
State University. They
are both
accomplished knitwear designers and collaborate on the translations of
the Rauma patterns. I
have had the priviledge of working with
Arnhild and learning about her business.
I am pleased to be able to offer all of her
patterns and products for
purchase online along with my own.
